Can you tell us a little bit about you, inside and outside of work?<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Outside of work, I like to go out a lot with my friends; I spend a lot of time with my family; I go to the gym; I do a lot of walking and I like to go to Ibiza a few times a year.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I\u2019ve near enough always been in sales. I started working in a phone shop selling phones and then I moved into telesales, selling technology. Next, I moved into the motor trade, working in car sales so I have some experience in the automotive industry. I\u2019ve always enjoyed working in sales, I\u2019ve just been figuring out which direction to go in.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is a Junior Automotive Consultant for the Midlands? What will you be doing in your new role?<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In my new role, I\u2019ll be matching candidates with vacancies on behalf of clients. I\u2019ll be sourcing candidates, talking to them and taking them through the recruitment process. I\u2019m also looking forward to speaking to clients in person to find out exactly how I can help them. I think my experience as a salesperson in the motor trade will really help me as I know what candidates are looking for. I\u2019m looking forward to getting back to talking to people face-to-face after working in telesales.<\/span><\/p>\n

What advice would you give someone interested in a career in recruitment?<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I think it\u2019s a really rewarding job because you get to help people with their careers. I think it\u2019s important to be compassionate and really listen to what the candidate and client want so you can better match professionals and businesses.<\/span><\/p>\n

What advice would you give someone interested in a career in the automotive sector?<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Organisation is important. Because it\u2019s such a busy industry, there\u2019s a lot to think about so make sure you write everything down and have a list of everything you have to do throughout the day.<\/span><\/p>\n

What key skills are essential in your position?<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Compassion, listening skills, integrity and organisation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why did you want to join AKA Recruitment?<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I was excited to join a really successful company like AKA. I like that they\u2019re always looking to improve and that they treat their employees really well. They immediately came across as very friendly and there are opportunities for progression, which I think is really important.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are you most looking forward to in your first few weeks at AKA?<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Definitely meeting everyone in person! Since I\u2019ve not worked in recruitment before, I\u2019m looking forward to finding out more about the day to day of recruitment.
